The day will start with an introductory talk about RAKU. You will be able to choose at least 3 pots to glaze yourself from a selection of different glazes The pots will then be fired. You will be encouraged to participate in every way, checking the kiln, placing your pots in and removing from the kiln and putting the pots in the reduction chamber. We aim to have 3 firings. Once the pots have cooled down you will be able to remove the carbon and see the ‘magical’ colours appear and take home your pots to show off your experience. Typical examples from a RAKU day are shown opposite.
